Baylosis Billiard Manufacturing was born from one man's obsession with building the perfect table. Since 1978, the Baylosis family has been shaping timber, slate, and felt into instruments of play that stand the test of tournament and time.
The Baylosis Timeline
The Craft Begins
Edgar Baylosis learned woodworking under the guidance of his father in Cagayan de Oro, Philippines. Fascinated by billiards, he began building his first practice table from salvaged mahogany — a rough prototype that would spark a lifelong vocation.
First Workshop Opens
After years of honing his skills, Edgar opened a small workshop in Novaliches. Word spread quickly among local billiard halls and sports clubs about the quality and playability of his custom tables. Orders grew faster than he could fill them alone.
Professional Recognition
Baylosis tables were selected for use in a regional billiard championship — the first major tournament to feature his craftsmanship. The endorsement from competitive players marked a turning point, positioning the brand alongside the country's top manufacturers.
Expanding the Range
Demand for executive and decorative tables pushed the workshop to expand its material sourcing, importing premium slates and felts from Spain and Belgium. The signature Baylosis finish — a hand-rubbed lacquer over select hardwood — became the brand's hallmark.
Second Generation Joins
Edgar's sons joined the workshop, bringing new skills in design and project management while honoring the traditional hand-building process. The family business expanded its capacity without ever introducing CNC automation.
